BMW Enjoys Two Class Wins at 2013 Engine of the Year Awards

BMW Group has always been conscious about the kind of engines that they introduce in the market. Now, BMW Group has announced that they have two more wins at the International Engine of the Year Awards. The automaker said that they really believe that this kind of engine awards add some new technologies on the market level and therefore they are really excited about it. The company has said that last year’s 2.0 liter four cylinder engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology which is fitted in BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series have managed to win in the displacement category. On the other hand, 1.6 liter four cylinder Mini TwinPower Turbo engine that is being used in Mini Cooper S managed to win the award as well.


The BMW Group said that the Engine of the Year Awards were presented on June 5 at the Engine Expo fair in Stuttgart. The automaker said that consumers today are very demanding about the kind of engines that they want and therefore it is always important to bring out better engines that offer instant power delivery and better levels of efficiency. The BMW Group also said that they are really glad that they have managed to win two awards at the event. The winners in each category are decided by an international jury that comprises of 84 motoring journalists from around the world.

BMW also said that winning awards in two categories also indicates the amount of dedication and development that the company is involved in to bring out better engine technologies on a global level. The company said that since 1999 BMW Group has managed to win more than 60 class and overall wins in the competition. The automaker said that BMW TwinPower Turbo technology still manages to impress buyers and car enthusiasts all over the world.
